Sweet Smoke Southern Kitchen is a family-owned and operated restaurant built around good food, strong relationships, and a genuine love for the Stuart community. Owners John and Margie Stiburek have called this area home for decades, and their connection to the people who live here shapes the way they run the restaurant every day. What began as part of a larger barbecue brand has grown into something distinctly their own: an independent local restaurant where guests are welcomed like neighbors and employees are treated like family.
That family-focused approach can be felt throughout Sweet Smoke. Many members of the team have been with the restaurant for years, creating an unusually experienced and close-knit staff. John and Margie take pride in providing a workplace where people enjoy coming to work, feel appreciated, and have opportunities to grow. That consistency matters, not only behind the scenes, but in the familiar faces, dependable service, and care guests experience each time they visit.
John and Margie each bring their own passion to the business. Margie oversees Sweet Smoke’s catering, helping families, businesses, and organizations bring memorable food to celebrations and gatherings throughout the area. John remains closely involved in the restaurant, and when he gets a chance to step away, you can often find him enjoying one of his favorite parts of Florida life: surfing.
Giving back is also an important part of who they are. Through community giveback nights and support for local schools, teams, organizations, and causes, Sweet Smoke works to return the same support Stuart has shown the restaurant over the years. John and Margie are proud to raise their family here, operate their business here, and play an active role in a community that means so much to them.
At Sweet Smoke, the goal is bigger than serving a great meal. It is about creating a place where families can gather, employees can feel at home, and the community can count on being welcomed with warmth, generosity, and genuine hospitality.
